
Sue was classically trained in England starting at the age of three and is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Dancing and The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. The Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) is the world’s leading international organization in classical ballet training. Sue implements the RAD curriculum and technique in all of her ballet, pre-pointe and pointe classes.
She appeared semi-professionally and professionally on stage for over 10 years and has participated in numerous musical productions before devoting her life to teaching and choreographing. Sue has taught classical ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and lyrical in both England and Texas for over 30 years. She also owned a highly successful studio here in Texas for 13 years and has trained many students who have gone on to dance in college and beyond. Sue has become a well known and respected teacher in the metroplex.
Sue has choreographed the ballets Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Romeo & Juliet, and Coppelia. She has also choreographed for such musicals as Oklahoma, Carousel, My Fair Lady, Sweet Charity, The Pajama Game, Seussical, and Cats.
In addition to teaching at Studio A, she is currently choreographing for the Stars Theater Company, a local children’s theatre group in Southlake and is also a dance team sponsor of the Stars Dance Team at Colleyville Middle School where she teaches.
Sue recently helped choreograph and performed in The Weaving, an original dance/drama which was produced in New York City’s Lincoln Center in June,2010.
Sue is a proud mother of two grown sons, Gary and Shane, and loving grandma to her two grand-daughters Emma and Mia; she enjoys spending family time whenever possible.
Sue is excited to join the Studio A family and is looking forward to continuing to pass on her knowledge and love of dance to her students.
