Stephanie Phelps

A storyteller of mythic proportions, a talented impressionist, an amazing vocalist, a divine dancer and an interactive, thoughtful instructor are just a few of the ways you might describe Studio A Instructor & Assistant Stephanie Phelps. With qualities like these she is an exceptional Musical Theatre instructor. She encourages her students to step out of their comfort zones and instills confidence in them by incorporating solo singing, monologues and creative choreography into her curriculum each and every week. Stephanie has performed since the age of two as an amateur and semi-professional actor and vocalist in numerous productions, including a performance at the Majestic Theater in Dallas. She has performed at Johnnie High’s Country Music Revue and has sung for Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York. Stephanie values her vocal training and continues to practice regularly. You may even hear her burst into song while wandering the halls of Studio A.
Her extensive dance training prepared her to be a wonderful role model for all of her students, whether she is teaching the class or assisting another instructor. In addition to acting and singing, Stephanie has been dancing since the age of two and she performed with the Rhythm Nation Company for 10 years. During this time she honed her technique and expanded her dance repertoire. She specializes in Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Tap and Clogging and continues to perfect her technique by taking classes as an adult. Stephanie has significant classical Russian Ballet training as well. She spent many years training with Nikolai Semikov and Svetlana Stanova, owners of Stanova Semikov Ballet Academy. She incorporates this training into all of her classes, whether she is teaching 3 year-olds or 16 year-olds.

Stephanie’s infectious attitude and love of children makes every class with her interesting and entertaining. She is a joy to be around and her students adore her. Stephanie is thrilled to be a part of the Studio A family!
Stephanie recently celebrated her acting and dancing talents in Studio A’s presentation of The Weaving in New York City’s Lincoln Center on June 13, 2010.
