Gloria Athans Moulopoulos, a recent Ohio transplant now resides in Keller, TX. A love of the performing and visual arts has been a lifelong passion of hers. As a child she was exposed to ballet, tap, art, singing and acting and consequently has been permanently addicted. She has an undergraduate degree in English literature and theatre and a graduate degree in the same disciplines from San Francisco State. She was inducted into Pi Epsilon Delta honorary Dramatic Fraternity. She has studied acting with the renowned Uta Hagen and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Gloria taught English and theatre at Perrysburg High School and Notre Dame Academy and Lourdes College. She has directed high school musicals for St. Francis de Sales High School, Notre Dame Academy and Central Catholic High School. She was a docent for 17 years at the prestigious Toledo Museum of Art.
She has performed professionally with the Straw Hatters, Bay Players, Shakespeare Festival and the Young Playgoers, to name a few. She also does voice-overs and on-camera TV commercials.
Her passion for directing is matched by her passion for acting. She was in the original cast of the premier performance of Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus. Among the numerous roles she has played, some of her favorites are Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Maria Callas in Master Class and her most recent role, Corrie ten Boom of The Weaving which was performed in New York City at Lincoln Center and Produced by Studio A.
She was Artistic Director at the Toledo Repertoire Theatre, the oldest community theatre in northwest Ohio, for 10 years and directed their annual A Christmas Carol with a cast of 120 She was head of their Education Program and initiated a summer regional High School Musical Program which is thriving today.
Her passion for theatre and education has not diminished and that is what she wants to share with the vital, growing spirit of Studio A.
With all her heart she agrees with the bard that, “All the world is a stage.”
