Hold onto your hats as you read about the incredible dance career of Miss Evan Anderson! Evan began her dance training at the young age of three. Her natural talent and love for the art was developed at Dancer’s Workshop in Austin, Texas. At age 14 she was accepted into the studio’s Pre-Professional Dance Program, where she had the opportunity to travel and compete. She was selected, out of thousands of dancers from across the United States, to “Dance with the Force” at the 2005 L.A. Dance Force competition. This achievement led to the opportunity to train for three months in Los Angeles at the EDGE Performing Arts Center where she performed in the scholarship show “ImEDGEry,” at the EDGE.
During her Junior and Senior years of high school she was Captain of the award-winning Leander Blue Belles Dance Team. Evan choreographed and performed many solos at dance competitions, achieving first overall honors each time. This led to national and state solo titles. At age 18 she was invited to be a Jazz instructor at United Spirit Association.
Upon completion of high school she took a huge risk which turned out to be an incredible learning experience…she moved to Los Angeles on her own and auditioned for the prestigious EDGE Performing Arts Center yearlong scholarship program. She was selected, along with 19 other dancers, out of a highly competitive field of hundreds.
Following her year of intensive training she was signed with Bloc Talent Agency in Los Angeles and was chosen for many professional opportunities, such as performing as a back-up dancer in the Leona Lewis music video “Forgive Me”, a backup dancer for Katy Perry’s live appearance at Spike TV’s “Guy’s Choice Awards”, and as a performer at Christian Audigier’s 50th Birthday Party. Her commercial appearances include a promotion for FX’s “Nip/Tuck”, “Shiseido”, and “CheBanca”.
Her most recent achievements are being selected for a second year as a -Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and appearing on the Country Music Television show “Making the Team: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders”. She definitely has rise to the top of this organization with her incredible dance ability, commitment, willingness to serve others, and her inner/outer beauty. Evan is currently pursuing an undergraduate dance performance degree at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX.
Evan brings to Studio A her knowledge of the professional dance world and her passion for teaching! Her expertise is in teaching ballet, jazz, hip-hop and contemporary. She is driven, focused and loves a challenge. She wants to challenge her Studio A students, so they can reach their full potential.
