
Alexandra is the Studio A Dance Competitive Company Director. Her impressive repertoire of giftings include jazz, hip-hop, ballet, lyrical and tap. As a writer, mesmerizing impromptu storyteller for children and award-winning choreographer (with extensive knowledge of tap history and ballet) she is well-known for selecting dynamic musical compositions for conceptual choreography.
Alexandra began her dance training at the age of two at Natalie’s School of Dance in Dallas, TX. From a tiny tapper to taking the stage in NYC, Alexandra, fondly known as Ms. Alex to her students, is a dynamic and endearing teacher; she loves teaching her students! Her full resume speaks of the years of intensive training and accomplishments.
Alexandra trained at Etgen-Atkinson School of Ballet, The Santa Fe Dance Foundation, Forcher’s Dance Center and Dana’s Studio of Dance. She has attended ballet summer intensives at Etgen-Atkinson, Dallas Ballet Center, Chamberlain’s School of Ballet and Ballet Academy of Texas. Her jazz intensives were at KJ Dance Studio and Center for Adrenaline. She has studied under the private tutelage of Michelle Asaff (Broadway Dance Center, New York), Chris Jacobson (Center for Adrenaline) and Emmy Award Winner Jason Samuels-Smith (Los Angeles).
At age 18, she ventured to New York City where she was personally mentored by Mr. Derick Grant, a member of the Tony Award winning production, “Bring in Da Noise, Bring in Da Funk.” She received one-on-one training in jazz from Joe Lanteri, AC Cuilla, Suzi Taylor, and Michelle Asaff; in ballet from David Howard and Kathryn Sulliven.
She participated in several outstanding tap festivals including Third Coast Rhythm Project, Soul to Soul, and most notably the Los Angeles Tap Festival where she was able to perform with legendary entertainer, Dick van Dyke. Her professional affiliations include New York City Ballet Guild, Dance Council, International Tap Association and Arts Touching Hearts.
Her ballet performances include The Night before Christmas, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, The Nutcracker, Magical Land of Oz and Pinocchio. She was a member of the Irving Ballet Company and Momentum Dance Company as well as various pre-professional studio competition companies. A highlight was the opportunity to perform in an Off Broadway production of “Shake-n-Break”. In 2006 she had the Principal Role in Tapestry & Glove, an original ballet by Judy and Brent Klopenstein. She recently showcased her choreographic and dance talents at the prestigious Lincoln Center in NYC where Studio A performed "The Weaving."
